ABCA Next Chapter Celebration Event
ABCA held a function on Sunday 28 June 2026, at which we celebrated our next chapter.
Using storytelling with excerpts from Dr. Seuss’ wondrous Oh, The Places You’ll Go, we narrated:
The beginnings of ABCA – under the heading ‘Whoops we started a charity’;
Sending over 400,000 books to over 13 countries in 23 years;
The phenomenal relationships ABCA has nurtured with partners, schools and institutions both in Africa and Australia;
The impact of ABCA on the lives of learners in Africa;
Sponsoring the Wandiika Children’s Writing Competition in Uganda and initiating a children’s writing competition in Kenya in conjunction with The Mint (click here to learn more);
Our next steps including the initiation of Teach the Teacher and Train the Librarian programmes which are in their incubator stages. (Watch this space!).
