ABCA Next Chapter Celebration Event
At our function on Sunday 28 June 2026, we celebrated the next chapter for ABCA.
Using storytelling with excerpts from Dr. Seuss’ wondrous Oh, The Places You’ll Go, we narrated:
The beginnings of ABCA – under the heading ‘Whoops we started a charity’;
Sending over 400,000 books to over 13 countries in 23 years;
The phenomenal relationships ABCA has nurtured with partners, schools and institutions both in Africa and Australia;
The impact of ABCA on the lives of learners in Africa;
Our sponsorship of writing competitions in Uganda and Kenya including our long term relationship with the inspirational Wandiika Literacy Initiative in Uganda (click here to learn more);
Our next steps including the initiation of Teach the Teacher and Train the Librarian programmes which are in their incubator stages.
