ABCA held a function on Sunday 28 June 2026 at which we celebrated our next chapter.
Using storytelling with excerpts from Dr. Seuss’ wondrous Oh, The Places You’ll Go, we narrated:
The beginnings of ABCA – under the heading ‘Whoops we started a charity’;
Sending over 400,000 books to over 13 countries in 23 years;
The phenomenal relationships ABCA has nurtured with partners, schools and institutions both in Africa and Australia;
The impact of ABCA on the lives of learners in Africa; Sponsoring the Wandiika Children’s Writing Competition in Uganda and initiating a children’s writing competition in Kenya in conjunction with The Mint. Our next steps including the initiation of Teach the Teacher and Train the Librarian programmes which are in their incubator stages. (Watch this space!).
