St Peter Claver School - Soweto

In 2023, ABCA donated books to be included in a new school library in St Peter Claver School in Soweto.

Eleanor Hough, a retired principal who set up the library recently sent us the following message and new photos of the library:

Feedback from Eleanor Hough:

Today I received such a happy surprise. In 2023 I totally restored a library at St Peter Claver School in Soweto. This was a huge task but when I handed the library over there wasn’t a teacher to run the library. I felt that my work was for nought. Today I received the following pictures showing it is up and running well.

So many of these books were yours Lauren. Thank you once again to Australian Books for Children of Africa.

A few Grade 7 girls helped with the library and were beyond excited. The book the girls were so intrigued by, was about Aussie animals!
